Korean-English Literary & Media Translator

Jasmine Jeemin Lee is a professional translator based in Korea, working across literature and media, translating narrative in its many forms.Born in Texas, she grew up moving between Korea and the U.S. She holds a master’s degree from Ewha Womans University Graduate School of Translation and Interpretation and took part in the 2025 International Literary Translation & Creative Writing Workshop at the British Centre for Literary Translation.Her translation work spans a wide range of genres, including books, plays, films, webtoons, and cultural interviews. She is the recipient of the 2019 Korea Times Modern Literature Translation Award and has received multiple translation grants from the Literature Translation Institute of Korea and the Publication Industry Promotion Agency of Korea.Her published translations include House of Dreams: The Life of L. M. Montgomery by Liz Rosenberg and the short story “The School for Wives,” translated from Korean to English and featured in Azalea: Journal of Korean Literature & Culture, Vol. 17 (Harvard University).She also writes personal essays inspired by her experiences as a translator.Additional Background

문화예술계 영어 통·번역사

이화여자대학교에서 국제학을 전공하고, 같은 학교 통번역대학원을 졸업했다.
한국문학번역원의 문화콘텐츠 번역 아카데미 과정을 성적 우수 장학생으로 수료했다.
2019년 제50회 코리아타임스 한국 현대 문학 번역상을 수상했으며,
2025년 영국문학번역센터(BCLT)에서 주최하는
문학번역 워크숍(International Literary Translation & Creative Writing Summer School)에 참가했다.
해외 서적, 공연, TV 쇼, 광고·홍보물 등 다양한 장르의 콘텐츠를 한국어로 번역했고,
국내외 유수 소설가, 물리학자, 경제학자 등 유명 인사의 말을 다수 통역했다.
기획 및 번역한 책으로는 『하우스 오브 드림 : 빨강머리 앤의 시작』이 있으며,
영어로 번역한 단편소설 「아내들의 학교」가 하버드대학교 한국학연구소 한국문학 전문 영문 문예지 《AZALEA》에 실렸다.
프리랜서 번역가의 일상을 담은 에세이 『오 마이 갓김치! K콘텐츠 번역가의 생존 가이드』를 썼다.현재는 한국 문학을 비롯해 웹툰, 그래픽 노블, 영화, 공연 등
다채로운 K콘텐츠를 영어로 옮기는 작업에 집중하고 있다.
